Oh, and FYI - the only "open" pbl commsnds are now : 0x02, 0x09,0x15,0x16 The others appear to require some sort of prior setup/handshake - I'm chosing to assume thats what 0x15 & 0x16 are for.. Jake

Hello, I'm wondering whether anyone here has had any success with getting U-Boot working on an E3 with PBL 5.1 on it? I have got it to succesfully upload U-Boot onto it using pbltool linux.pbl, however I get no response when it attempts to load the serial terminal, and it appears from reloading pbltool that it has not executed the code, as pbl is still running. Yup, I guess it depends what you are actually hoping to use the E3+Linux for but if it is for locally run GUI apps and a GUI desktop then we've ported both Microwindows and also OPIE (http://opie.handhelds.org/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/) on a QTembedded base to the E3 and both run very nicely. The latter gives you the mini-KDE/Gnome experience with lots of little GUI applets and works well with both our keyboard and mouse support (if maybe a little SLOWLY!) The hardware's certainly up to it, and the form factor is great, but as soon as I start doing anything using serious software (such as Debian), I'm going to run out of RAM. So, I'm going to need swap space. Are there any alternatives to plugging in a USB1 hard disk, sharing the single port with all my other devices? While I have, in the past, used Sun workstations that swapped over a 10Mbps ethernet cable with roughly similar bandwidth to that USB port, it wasn't a pleasant experience. It would be really nice to be able to get hold of some higher-bandwidth conduit. Even just being able to dedicate a complete USB1 port rather than having to share would be an improvement; the boot logs say that there are three ports --- are any of them brought out to headers on the motherboard? [PATCH] Add support for Amstrad Delta (E3) Videophone

This patch adds support for the Amstrad Delta (E3) Videophone. This is an OMAP5910 based device, which you can find more details about at: http://www.amstrad.com/products/emailers/e3.html http://www.earth.li/~noodles/hardware-e3.html Patch is against latest git://source.mvista.com/git/linux-omap-2.6 and adds the bare minimum of support for the device; I have a handful of other patches to sort out the NAND, LCD, keymap and USB but they all depend on this one. u-boot with NAND support

I've finally uploaded my u-boot patch with NAND support. It's at: http://the.earth.li/pub/e3/2.6.15/u-boot-e3-20060321.diff with a precompiled image at: http://the.earth.li/pub/e3/2.6.15/u-boot.bin It also changes the processor to be the correct 925t rather than 926 based one, but this seems to have slowed down the boot a lot. Also the NAND support is really slow; for some reason I can't get the support for the NAND ready bit (on GPIO 12 I believe) to work, though it seems fine for the kernel. I haven't had a chance to further look at getting PBL loading u-boot from NAND, but I hope to play over the weekend.
