I intend to develop this module further (see Pod section TODO), but I am inviting feedback from others, especially those who are hosting CGI::Wiki sites. The code is a direct rip from OpenGuides::Diff.pm, but I wrote nearly all of this module anyway. Please let me know - reply on-list or off-list, if you would like to see more specific functionality in this module, as I have time to put into it :). Ivor.

SQLite Backend

Hello, I am having some problems get a basic CGI::Wiki up and running. I have one script which only opens a SQLite database, a DB_File_SplitHash for an index, and one write_node command. The problem is that there are no tables in the SQLite database so the write fails (it seems to fail silently) and the subsequent display_node function call throws an error "table does not exist", I had assumed that CGI::Wiki::Store::Database would create the needed tables, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I looked through the documentation and code comments in CGI::Wiki::Store::Database, CGI::Wiki::Store::SQLite, CGI::Wiki to see if I missed something about creating backend tables, but I can't find anything that describes the data model. This might be related to my newbie status in Perl and CPAN packages, but I can't figure out where to go from here. Thanks, Masroor Naved

Kake, Some of the work I will be doing on the search for OpenGuides necessitates an enhancement to the method list_nodes_by_metadata. This will enable SQL LIKE type matches. Hi, I'm wondering what are the main wiki packages out there are and if people on this list are involved with any of them? (Poking around on the web reveals literally scores of packages--it's hard to tell what's active and what's been abandoned.) Just curious where the wiki action is... :) Justin

CGI::Wiki::Kwiki enhancements

I'd particularly like Jerakeen's input on this. I have a wiki running on CGI::Wiki::Kwiki, for the local crafts group. I've amended the wiki.cgi script to call a different, local set of modules for certain nodes - see http://the.earth.li/~kake/cgi-bin/london.crafts/wiki.cgi?node=Yarn%20Databa… (Please don't add junk data; this is a live site.) Integration with the rest of the wiki is provided by using common header/footer templates and a common API between the configuration for CGI::Wiki::Kwiki and the local LondonCrafts::YarnDB distribution. Now, LondonCrafts::YarnDB allows people to enter information about various yarns, and will create a suitably-named node for each new yarn. I would like a way to "flag" yarn nodes so that when one is viewed using the normal CGI::Wiki::Kwiki mechanism, a link to the LondonCrafts::YarnDB information appears at the bottom of the page. The flagging is easy - I just use CGI::Wiki directly and create a node with Category metadata of "Yarn". The link is easy too - I pass a Template Toolkit variable containing a suitable query URL to the template processor. Ah. How do I pass a Template Toolkit variable in to CGI::Wiki::Kwiki and be sure it gets passed on to the template? I do have some ideas of my own, but I'd appreciate input. Kake

Wiki::Toolkit

I've set up a wiki for us to make a start on brainstorming the documentation for the proposed rewrite as Wiki::Toolkit. It's currently at http://the.earth.li/~kake/cgi-bin/wiki-toolkit/wiki.cgi (but this will change. Earle has registered the wiki-toolkit.org domain and Martin has offered to host the domain and hence the wiki. Can you two figure out between you what still needs to be done there?) In the meantime, please get stuck in to the docs on the wiki. The default formatter for discussion etc pages is UseMod, and the documentation pages are done in POD. If you want the wiki to be different in some way, or find something broken in it, please let me know. If this isn't what the people who were wanting a wiki for development were actually wanting, then again let me know. I don't plan to start programming yet; I want some consensus (via the docs on the wiki) of what the API should be first. Kake
