Hopefully then slashcode has improved since the last time I tried to
use it. It was horrendously hackish perl tied into apache and mysql's
internals in several ways.
I'd probably suggest using the similar-looking but simpler SquishDot
on Zope if we're able to install whatever we like, as that would also
allow there to be multiple web editors working on the site as a whole,
not just on posting stories (which could be done by an overlapping
group). Thoughts?
Of course, other ways may be more developed in connecting up to the
mailing lists and/or offering nntp feeds of the discussions. Are
these of interest to people?
As to the existing website, maybe we should steal the artwork and
material, but orphan the current site as soon as possible, rather than
waste effort bringing it up-to-date. Andrew, can you upload a tarball
of all the materials (the site, the logo master, etc) so that someone
can take it off of your hands?
Once again, the "subscribe to alug" forms should be killed
immediately, as they are broken but produce no errors.
