We're getting more spam now. There are a number of options open to us: 1. It looks like the sis900 is supposed to discover these by itself. Does "lsmod" show sis900 as loaded? What is the exact error caused by a "modprobe sis900"? It looks like wrong IRQ/IO settings, but it ought to work themselves out. Most confusing. -- MJR

Folks, I've set up spam filtering on my servers using sendmail's "access" database, and it workes very well. The only downside is that I need to add new domains to it several times a day, but it is catching spam, no question. You may ask why I don't use the RBL and stuff; it's because I need control: I get a lot of hotmail, yahoo, and suchlike mail, which often includes spam. Anyway, a large amount of it comes through this relay: relay=catalog.com [207.240.40.4]. I've mailed them several times, as it happens, I'm a catalog customer myself, but they refuse to do anything about it. Are there any sanctions I can intitiate? Is there anywhere to report them to? I'm withdrawing my business from them, not just because of this, but because I no longer need their services. I thought I might need to start editing some files to have the system point to the module but plainly it's seeing it. David Freeman said - do a more /proc/pci Did that and it came back with a lot of stuff but the only valid bit was stuff about the vendor - SIS, device ID=7018, IRQ 11 and I/O addresses. It said similar thing about the Ethernet controller with the device ID as 900 (see above in the bit about the module) and IRQ still as 11 and different I/O addresses of course. I've been trying to find some info on the web about sound and it suggested I look at modules.conf.
