That makes sense. I might have known there was a cunning use for these -dev packages My bro' is unfamiliar with debian and the package system, btw. I was grateful to find out what the recalcitrant file was at the time; don't like to harass the alug list with *all* my woes and problems. Just most of them. ;-) Thanks, Jenny.
