diald problem..

Hi all I've got ppp working fine, using scripts linuxconf generated. But diald doesn't like it. It tries to bring up the connection when it should, but then bombs out when starting pppd: May 15 00:55:32 passage pppd[5515]: pppd 2.3.11 started by root, uid 0 May 15 00:55:32 passage pppd[5515]: Using interface ppp0 May 15 00:55:32 passage pppd[5515]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS2 May 15 00:55:35 passage pppd[5515]: Remote message: ^@ May 15 00:55:36 passage pppd[5515]: Peer is not authorized to use remote address 212.41.40.37 May 15 00:55:37 passage pppd[5515]: Hangup (SIGHUP) May 15 00:55:37 passage pppd[5515]: Modem hangup May 15 00:55:37 passage pppd[5515]: Connection terminated. Normally (if I run pppd from the shell without diald) I get the 'Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS2' line then it tells me local and remote addresses and off I surf... any ideas? Checked the diald/ppp howtos and FAQs and they don't mention it...? Mandrake on Laptop

Helo, As you may remember my last e-mail I was considering installing Mandrake on my laptop, well now I've done it and I have to say I am very impressed, it auto detected all my hardware, even my PCMCIA combined Lan/56k modem and installed the correct drivers (I was very wary of this). Now however I have a problem..... The contrast is really bad. It is far too bright and the icons look really washed out. I have tried turning brightness down/contrast up but to no avail what should I do?? Would somebody tell me why /dev/modem and /dev/ttyS1 keep losing their write attributes after running a bog standard pppd dialup script? Ta.
