Off the top of my head, I think it comes from the Apache guide to tuning mod_perl on their web site, but it was a long time ago. Finally i have a nice working email service that i can use in collage(as you can tell from my email addy ;-). I have messed about with the config file for lilo (/etc/lilo.conf). this was so that i could added my new kernel as the default for startup but now my Linux box just freeze after the time to select an option is up. It will boot up fine if i stop the countdown and select my option. Any one know what is wrong with this? It seems to mount my hard disk drives in its freeze time as it checks my hard drives(with fsck) when i next boot it properly. If you need to see my config file ill put it on my site and post a link to it, just mail me back and ask. If you want to avoid the browser wrapping text in html the easiest way if to use the <pre> ...</pre> tags which displays any text in between "as is" - is short fro preformatted. If you are 'parsing' in log files to an html file then write "<pre>" to the output file and then copy the (I presume txt file) straight in (you might want to check for the </pre> tag and htmlise that just in case) and then slap the "</pre>" tag after it. Apache mod_perl - Does it have the perl interpreter build into mod_perl or does it load it from elsewhere

I have tried reading some of the mod_perl docs but didn't find the answer to this one... With a web server with mod_perl available, is the perl interpreter itself embedded in the mod_perl.so module, or does mod_perl.so load the perl interpreter from some external source, e.g. a libperl.so that is part of the systems normally perl installation. I am interested primarily to know if upgrading the perl version on a system using mod_perl will: a) cause the newer perl intrepreter to usedby Apache. b) break mod_perl by having perl modules that assume a recent version of the perl interpreter but actually get run under an older one in mod_perl. Does anyone know please? Steve.
