and he is using the nvidia binary modules. All bets are off. Remember, those modules causing crashes are one of the main reasons that we know have modules declaring their licence when the kernel loads them and warnings being generated for non-GPL ones. They are probably written terribly internally, but there is no way of knowing. Avoid, avoid. -- MJR

On x86 - You press the key combo 'ALT-SysRq-<command key>'. Note - Some keyboards may not have a key labeled 'SysRq'. The 'SysRq' key is also known as the 'Print Screen' key. * What are the 'command' keys? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 'r' - Turns off keyboard raw mode and sets it to XLATE. 'k' - Secure Access Key (SAK) Kills all programs on the current virtual console. NOTE: See important comments below in SAK section. 'b' - Will immediately reboot the system without syncing or unmounting your disks. 'o' - Will shut your system off (if configured and supported). 's' - Will attempt to sync all mounted filesystems. 'u' - Will attempt to remount all mounted filesystems read-only. 'p' - Will dump the current registers and flags to your console. 't' - Will dump a list of current tasks and their information to your console. 'm' - Will dump current memory info to your console. '0'-'9' - Sets the console log level, controlling which kernel messages will be printed to your console. ('0', for example would make it so that only emergency messages like PANICs or OOPSes would make it to your console.) 'e' - Send a SIGTERM to all processes, except for init. 'i' - Send a SIGKILL to all processes, except for init. 'l' - Send a SIGKILL to all processes, INCLUDING init. (Your system will be non-functional after this.) Newmarket (after the Tuddenham junction), follow road for about 5 miles, at lights bear left into Newmarket. At next roundabout (Clocktower on it) turn left, follow road, turn left at "T" junction (Pub on left) and follow road for about 2 miles.... On entering Cheveley, take first right up "High Street", carry on past church on left. Immediately after phone box on right, go through the gates, down to the bottom of the drive BIG HOUSE... Someone will be around to point you in the right direction.. I think that about does it, power points.. There should be plenty available.... Tables, in process of sorting out, Tea and coffee... Sorted (small donation to my mum for providing would be nice though).... Apart from that... So it looks like USB mass storage devices can act like a SCSI adapter? -- If you like to shop at amazon, FreeBSD is for you. If you have a fast internet connection, and don't like paying for stuff, use NetBSD. If you find it hard to have a conversation with people because everyone is stupid compared to you, OpenBSD is the way to go.

gone through betas 1, 2 and 3 and is now at RC (Release Candidate) 1. I expect it will be out within the next couple of weeks". Maybe Mandrake has addressed these issues as well as the ones you have highlighted. Cheers, BJ

its/it's, there/their/they're, practice/practise, dependent/dependant you cannot express yourselves clearly and accurately.
