Stupid Company Policy of the week

Well, I'm going to let off some steam. I'm on Demon, using the CWC 50p offer. I'm getting Star Office weighing in at around 70Mb. There's not much competition in the office world so I guess this is going to have to do. So I start downloading from the Amsterdam mirror. It stalls more than it comes down. I abort and try the US East Coast; this one's fast without stalling. Whoops. Netscape crashes at 15%, 3hrs 30mins to go. I go back to the website and try grabbing it again. Oh no! The webserver to manage download accounts is down. In dispair, I find sun.co.uk, a lovely fast mirror. But oh no - the Star Office download goes back to the US. Why? I try once again, and his time I'm not getting any response at all. In fact, a 503 Server Not Responding comes up. I hit reload a few times and am finally presented with a response: Your Session Has Expired. I have now written to Sun blasting them for not keeping sun.co.uk in the UK. It's diabolically stupid to maintain a mirror when critical parts are left in one country susceptable to crashes and downtime. Triple booting

Any ideas on how to or where to look for info on triple booting Linux, Win NT and Win 98? Win NT and 98 reside on a FAT16 partition on hda1. Linux has / on hdb1 with /home on hdc1 and a swap partition on hdc5. Lilo is on the first sector of the Linux boot partition hdb1 so I'm booting it with a floppy at the moment. I presume that the NT boot loader can be configured to point to the Linux boot partition but I'm not really conversant with NT so I need some help here. I don't really want to use a third party boot manager or a floppy so it's either the NT boot loader or possibly loadlin but again that's a root I'd like to steer clear of. FreeAgent1.1/Wine 990815/Linux RH6.0 - invisible mouse pointer.

Problem: Mouse pointer is white, as is FAgent's background. Both seem to be non-configurable. Have tried various command line parametes with wine, no effect. Using a drossy Matrix G100 video card. Suffering same problem with other MS software, eg Notepad. Is there a simple solution? KDE-1.1.2 out

For those interested, KDE-1.1.2 is now out. I've seen the Press Release, but www.kde.org isn't yet updated, and ftp.mirror.ac.uk hasn't got a 1.1.2 directory yet. Expect rpms in the coming days. I believe this is the final release in the v1.x.x tree, and as such is suppost to be very stable. Window manager

At last Sundays meeting one of you I think it was Brett was running a window manager which had transparent windows. What wm is it, where can I get it, how do I configure it to do that and do any other wms have this facility? Also I tried to load Debian to no avail (major hassles trying to get the x server working), I think I still need some hand holding as yet so it's back to RH6 which works a treat on my system.
