Hi, After a few days head scratching I thought I'd ask this one. Basically what I want to do is this: I have 2 files one containing urls called url with each url on a new line and another containing words called keywords with each keyword on a new line I want to search the url file for each of the keywords in the keyword file and output any matches to the file output I can do this for individual keywords using awk '/word1/||/word2/||/word3/' url > output But I need a way to do it for a load of keywords. Anyone got any thoughts? Cheers, Ben

You're #including the same file twice? I think this is why there's often an #ifndef FOO_H\n#define FOO_H 1\n<file>#endif in them. -- MJR

Hi, On IRC Monday I asked a brief question about the kerneli patches, and he (? scoobz) said they had no problems... question is, before I settle on that, has anyone else had experience with that, or any other linux encryption fs? Thankyou! Andrew

LINUX EXPO BIRMINGHAM

Neill (I think) mentioned taking a tent upto Linux expo in september, I quite like the idea, I need a holiday, I already have that week booked as leave, so, who else is interested in a) Coming to the expo for the day? b) Staying up there and having a bloody good laugh? Perhaps we could go as the ALUG, maybe with the alug T-shirts which we discussed recently on the list and at the meets? And I wont come back without a 3ft TUX! lo all!!! just a quick note to say that the alug/linux expo outing was good fun... I finally got to put names/email addresses to faces, which was nice ;).. I have to say that I am jealous of David Freeman, how the hell he managed to aquire a foot high fluffy pengiun I have no idea!! all I managed was an IBM football! anyway.. back to the daily grind.. What I find very interesting is that it printed: Just another Prl ehacker The problem is that 'quoted printable' thing again; an '=' got converted to '=3D'. Upon removing the 3D, it prints: Just another Perl hacker How's that for a resilient language! (my guess is it turned up in a regex and the regex just didn't match, but I can't be bothered to read that code). Incidentally, my $.02 on the write-only language bit; this is how I'd write the above, and I think many people would agree this bit o' Perl is a clear, well structured and elegant solution to the problem: perl -e 'print "Just another Perl hacker\n"' Show me a language clearer than that... Help with Mulinux, please

Hello, I first want to thank those members of alug who are already trying to help me with my problems with Mulinux. I was interested to find that markj@cloa has had the same kind of problem that I am having. However, I think that the cause is something that I do not understand and am doing wrong. I do not think that the cause is the fact that the distribution is not being updated as he suggests. Going to the Mulinux homesite and looking at /mulinux/mu/current one finds that there have been eight versions of the kernel this year, 2001, from mulinux-11r6 last modified 18 Jan 2001 to mulinux-12r0 on 14 Jun 2001. Similarly, of the eleven addons,the five earliest were last modified on 23 Dec 2000, and the three latest on 14 Jun 2001. I suspect that some of those writing about Linux, especially if English is not their native language, for DOS users do not appreciate the "ignorance" of the latter on things Linux. Some writers to the Mulinux homesite have asked how one can make a 1.722 Mb floppy. The answer, as I remember, was not satisfactory. Best wishes, Norman Rule
