Hi All,
I've swapped my DLink net card for a 3com509B to see if I can get better
results. I've got as far as loading the necessary 3c509 driver and
associating it with eth0, rather than the previous ne driver. However,
being unfamiliar with Debian I am not sure as to how to go about changing
the modules.conf......in /etc/modutils I have a directory called ne, and in
this I edited the address and alias eth0 lines to suit, then ran
update-modules.
So does it make sense to create a directory called 3c509 and put the same
info in it and run update-modules? How does update-modules know that it now
edits in from the new 3c509 file rather than the ne file, if so?
I'm in a "groan, this is all too hard" mood today.
Thanks, Jenny.
