Swim from Sonning, Berks/Oxon Saturday 7 Aug, 7.30pm

A thread I started on the Facebook site as I don't know how many people are on both: After this conversation http://www.facebook.com/board.php?uid=55781602829#!/ topic.php?uid=55781602829&topic=15473 a swim has been suggested from Sonning to here http://www.multimap.com/s/jxB4RmpR or to St. Patrick's bridge at Charvil. It's two miles down to Shiplake on the Oxon. bank or one to Charvil on the Berkshire bank. There's a path both sides and some parking at both get out points. Start point the Wharf at Sonning. I'm not 'organising' anything as such as I don't have a wetsuit and almost certainly won't go the whole distance, but maybe some more experienced people can make suggestions. I do live in Sonning and know the area well. If one mile, I'd suggest parking at Charvil http://bit.ly/bf9G7b and walking up to the Wharf at Sonning (in front of the Great House). David

I can do tomorrow - went to Dorchester earlier in the year so Little Stoke is a good choice for me. (Sef, I'm coming up from Reading and live North West of Oxford so can give you a lift back. I could pick you up from Cholsey station if you got the train down.) Swim at Dorchester and/or Little Stoke this eve and/or tomorrow eve (Mon 1st / Tues 2nd)

Hello, If anyone wants to join me either doing a pottering gentle breast stroke or head-down crawl then I can be at either of these two spots between 19:30 to 19:45 start - the swim would be no longer than about an hour. Temps are nice at the moment and so you can either suit-up or not. I don't have any preference which spot I go to as they are both great , both straight, deep and wide and both suit all levels of swimming. Weekend morning Thames swims?

Following from the OSS Silent Swim, would anybody be interested in one or two more unhurried swims somewhere in the Thames early on Saturday or Sunday mornings (before there are too many boats about) during August? I can't do August 1st, 14th or 15th but other Saturday and Sunday mornings are OK at the moment. As I live in South Cerney I would prefer somewhere upstream of Oxford (would meeting at Radcot bridge be an option?) but am willing to be flexible to suit the majority. Any suggestions for dates or places? Regards Neil Richardson
