dummy0? Shouldn't that go out on a real device instead? eth0 for me, normally.
Ah. I think I'm getting warm. I assumed "dummy0" was the name Debian gave to eth0. (First time debian user after Red hat). tcpdump is showing (as I just sent to Chris:) "When I ping, pinging my own IP shows echo request and reply using the loopback, but pinging the windows IP shows only an echo request, using dummy0. " I have also been looking for /conf.modules and don't have such a file. I need to look more closely here I think! Thanks. Do post any hints! Jenny.
