hi, i've got an interesting one here.... firstly, booted up Sisela last night and it looks great. runs with no probs whatsoever on my nasty old toshiba satellite PI 90mhz that im going to turn into an AP... thing is, im on dialup here... ugh... so im going to need to compile ppp in... how do i go about doing this?... i presume i'll need to recompile the kernel - is this all i'll need to do? and where/how should i add a dialer - could i use wvdial or something simple?... once i've done this, i'll also need to set up some kind of internet connection sharing... the grand plan is that i want to sit in the next room and have the nasty old laptop connecting with my external (serial port) modem, and link up to it by wifi. i presume this is going to be pretty much straightforward with Sisela, as its designed to do this sort of thing... Hello All, I'm trying to setup a Access Point. Reading the iwconfig howto it looks like the mode should be Master? Is this the right setting? Thanks, David

Orinoco Gold Card

Hello All, I'm using a orinoco gold PCMCIA card and it doesn't show up when I used iwconfig. Do I need to run a cmd first to detect the card first? I would like to make a Access Point. Thanks, David

Problems with different kernel

Hi I have a old p133 notebook with a crashed windows installation that don't allows me to boot up normal or in safe mode. I wanted to backup some files through ethernet and after searching for a one-disk-linux-system with pcmcia support I found sisela. The Ethernetpart works well if I use everything out of the package, but to gain access to the disk I want to backup I downloaded the config file from the page and throw out all the nic modules I don'T need and added the old ide driver (the old ones because it needs less space). If I build the kernel , copy it to the disk and boot from the disk the system crashes when trying to load the iptables modul (something with "unable to handle kernel paging request at adress ....") So I tried leaving out the iptables completely of the kernel (well gives some unresolved symbols when booting but I don't need iptables anyway). the hard disk access works fine but I can setup the nick, give it an ipadress but somehow it isn't activated properly. (the adapter displays no link) but the device is up... can anyone help me ? problem with two PCMCIA cards

Hi, I have an old laptop (Soyo PW980) that I want to use as a wireless bridge. It doesn't have an ethernet port but it has two PCMCIA slots. My plan was to plug a ethernet card in one of the slots and the wireless card on the other. Now, if I plug either of these cards by itself, then sisela recognizes the card and everything works. However if I plug in both cards then only one gets recognized. Is there a workaround this problem? Thanks, Felipe
