When I started this site up, in April 1997, I wrote some stuff about why I was doing it. You can still read the original page at the Wayback Machine. Things have changed since then; these days I don't need to print my recipes out, since I have a laptop and a kitchen table. But the final paragraph is still relevant:
“Finally… all the recipes on my site are vegan. There are other sites with only-vegan recipes on them, but some of them contain recipes that are too junk-foody, or too elaborate, or too other-stuff-that-I-don't-want-to-eat. A perfectly valid reason for making yet another cookery site is to create a resource on the Web that is entirely relevant to me and my lifestyle.”
And people seem to like it, and they like the fact that there are only vegan recipes here, and they like my writing style, and they like my taste in food. And some of them are kind enough to take the time to email me and tell me so. Thank you.
