Courgettes!

My courgette plants started taking over the world a while back and covered the raised bed I made in green.

I had some of the courgettes a week or two ago and went out today and found more.

Some have been rotting slightly on the plants so I removed those too but I'm really excited that the tiny, tiny plants I put in ages ago have turned into giant courgette plants and now have started producing things I can eat! Obvious but satisfying.

The beautiful flowers shown in the top picture of your post can be eaten and are a delicacy in Mexico where they're referred to as "flor de calabaza" and are used to make quesadillas with cheese and onion...mmmm...I highly recommend you try them. :-)

Poor soul, you are new to this courgette thing arent you? From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zucchini :

'a common type of joke among home growers revolves around creative ways of giving away unwanted zucchini to people who already have been given more than they can use. '

for the record: I have been eating courgette for the past 2 weeks (almost) EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Cheers, Another RPDR
