Dear all
I think I've managed to get the right end of the stick about when this swim can happen - and sorry, I think it was me who started the cross posting, I didn't realise it was the Oxon address too. It looks like most people are going for Wednesday at Sonning. I'll be there, and it looks like Helen, Lindsay, Pam and Jeremy are available too. Where do we meet - they don't let cars like mine in the French Horn car park. Can I request a slightly later start time of around 6.50 - 7.00?
Swimming between Pinkhill Lock and Eynsham tomorrow - the wetsuit gets its first outing! See you all Wednesday.

Really want to swim next week but this email traffic is getting very confusing. May I suggest that one (or two) people choose to do a swim in future and then let the rest know that it is happening - no need for confusing email discussion.
I am swimming in the Itchen tomorrow 2:30pm if anyone wants to come to Winchester. It is colder than anywhere in the Lakes (including the tarns up mountains) and wetsuits are really recommended. I swam in the Itchen in my cossie on Thursday and only managed half an hour.
If you want to join me, let me know by email and I will send you details of where to park and meet. Free parking on Sunday! Cup of tea on me at the Leisure Centre afterwards.

I could do Monday or Wednesday evening next week (13th or 15th September), but given that you are free earlier on Monday, could I suggest 6:30pm on Monday from the French Horn at Sonning Eye ? From the other posting by Pam, it looks like she may be available Monday as well ? Anyone else up for this ?
I'm also available from about 5:30pm Saturday or Sunday this weekend if you or anyone else is interested in meeting up - perhaps to do the next stretch along at Mapledurham.
I don't think I'll be able to do next weekend (18th / 19th) and having said in a OSS RATS post that I can do all evenings next week except Tuesday, I now realise I can't actually do Thursday or Friday, so in fact only Monday or Wednesday... (!)

Hullo all, yep, I'm up for Wednesday, deffo with wetsuit - it's getting a tad chillier! I think the whole swim to St Patrick's stream would be pushing it, as it would be dark by the time we got there. Better idea to do the half swim that I did with Lindsay and Chris a week or two ago. I posted links to photos of the route - can repost if you don't have them. (Am not at my own computer at the mo, which makes it harder to find stuff, but can repost tomorrow.)
I also suggest that we don't faff about with cars at both ends, and walk back along the Thames Path from the exit point. (Shoes, wetsuit socks, or tough feet therefore required.) Victoria, what are your parking restrictions? Where are you coming from - could I give you a lift from or en-route from the Oxford Road area of Reading?
cheers, H
By the way, my previous submission of this email to the list got held up in the moderator's queue, because it was too large - presumably the conversation had become SO long and unwieldy by then!
Here is the promised link for a photo of the planned route - it's 1.4km so quite a decent distance for the likes of me.

Weather forecast not currently looking great, but who knows, it's a few days away yet. http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/03763.html
cheers all, x H
