Cheese Course Alternatives

The last black tie dinner I went to, as part of the cheese course we were served roasted salted almonds as a vegan alternative. The cheeseboard also included celery sticks and black grapes; these all went very well together, and the almonds really hit the spot as a cheese substitute. No idea how they did them, sorry. I'd suspect soaking in salt water before oven roasting would do the trick. (The whole dinner was done very well; they'd even made us two vegans individual vegan chocolate puds, so we could eat "the same" as everyone else.)
