I thought I'd better put this in because people who don't know me sometimes get confused by it. My name is Kake, pronounced like “cake”. It used to be Kate, and many years before that it was Katy, but now it's Kake. Also, don't call me “Miss” or “Mrs” Pugh; both are inaccurate since Pugh isn't my maiden name, but I'm not married. Just call me Kake; it's much easier.
I do freelance academic and technical editing. I'm not short of work, but if you have something interesting feel free to email me.
I like making things, London, singing (I'm an alto), reading, watching films, writing (technical rather than fiction), walking and cooking (though I have sympathy with the Geek Nutrition Pyramid). I started riding my bike again, and got quite good at it, but then someone stole it. I am a babe, not a geek.
I am an earthling. My favourite power of 2 is the 8th, and my current favourite fruit is fresh figs. I am nothing to do with www.kake.com, but it is nice that they named a place after me.
I like this poem. I like this poem too. My favourite Lush products are big blue bath ballistic and creamy candy bubble bar. I am a beer swilling, rule breaking, havoc raising loon, and Perl is my bitch.
My birth family originally come from South Wales. My Mum, Dad, Bro and Nan still live there; Mum, Dad, and Bro live in Ebbw Vale, and Nan lives in Brynmawr. My Sis is a teacher and has finally moved to London.
Dad is a Financial Consultant, and a dead good one too. He knows loads of stuff about money and investing and all that. Mum is a special needs teacher and she knows all about dyslexia. They never answer their email.

I live in London with my chosen family, Bob and doop. (doop doesn't have a capital letter; it would spoil the rotational symmetry.)
I hadn't made a list of friends with websites before, because most of them are linked from the Kake News Archive, anyway. But this is more convenient. Let me know if you aren't here and think you should be, or vice versa. It is in reverse alphabetical order of first name. One or more of these people is/are my boy/girl/animalfriend, but you have to guess who.
