I think I've managed to get the right end of the stick about when this swim can happen - and sorry, I think it was me who started the cross posting, I didn't realise it was the Oxon address too. It looks like most people are going for Wednesday at Sonning. I'll be there, and it looks like Helen, Lindsay, Pam and Jeremy are available too. Where do we meet - they don't let cars like mine in the French Horn car park. Can I request a slightly later start time of around 6.50 - 7.00?
Swimming between Pinkhill Lock and Eynsham tomorrow - the wetsuit gets its first outing! See you all Wednesday.

Really want to swim next week but this email traffic is getting very confusing. May I suggest that one (or two) people choose to do a swim in future and then let the rest know that it is happening - no need for confusing email discussion.
I am swimming in the Itchen tomorrow 2:30pm if anyone wants to come to Winchester. It is colder than anywhere in the Lakes (including the tarns up mountains) and wetsuits are really recommended. I swam in the Itchen in my cossie on Thursday and only managed half an hour.
If you want to join me, let me know by email and I will send you details of where to park and meet. Free parking on Sunday! Cup of tea on me at the Leisure Centre afterwards.

I'll admit to getting an addled brain at this point, is Wednesday looking like the contender? I can do Wednesday, though can't get till Sonning till about 6.30 - 6.40. Same applies to Monday, but I can do either.

I'd consider the weekend 18/19 for another section of the Mapledurham swim, maybe from Pangbourne?
Mapledurham swim was excellent, Victoria, Helen arranged some very good weather. Hoping she can call in the favour again for the next swims!

I'm also available from about 5:30pm Saturday or Sunday this weekend if you or anyone else is interested in meeting up - perhaps to do the next stretch along at Mapledurham.
I don't think I'll be able to do next weekend (18th / 19th) and having said in a OSS RATS post that I can do all evenings next week except Tuesday, I now realise I can't actually do Thursday or Friday, so in fact only Monday or Wednesday... (!)

I hope the Mapledurham swim went well. It's a lovely stretch. I haven't been as far as the lock so I'm looking forward to hearing about it.
Anyone have a preference for a swim next week from Sonning? Helen and I can do Monday or Wednesday evening - I'm free on Monday from around 6.30 and on Wednesday around 7.00 - or if anyone's free the following weekend Saturday 18th in the afternoon looks ok, as does Sunday 19th morning. It would be great to have a swim as my wetsuit is desperate to have its first dip, and all I've had at home is peals of hysterical laughter when I've tried it on on dry land.

Yes - option 3 walk and then swim gets my vote as well. (We can always get out a bit early if we feel like it and the remaining walk will be shorter.)

Looking forward to this for tomorrow either way, and another go at the Sonning to Shiplake stretch next week would be great too.
Helen, I share your hopes that we may get a bit of an 'Indian Summer' (fingers crossed !)

Ah, good point. Lindsay is the one who knows this stretch. Where are we meeting, Lindsay?
I'm starting to wonder if the OSSrats email list was such a good idea, as we're now potentially discussing swims in three places - Oxon and RATS email groups, plus the OSS facebook pages! I thought that all the Berkshire activity might get wearisome for people in north Oxon, though... perhaps it will get more straightforward once all the interested parties join OSSRATS.
