Watch this space - just got Lenny and There-Will-Be-Questions[TM]
Just received a 5 DVD set of Lenny, and am building a box to keep him in. In the meantime, I'm going to put it all on a HDD on this box (HD0 in a tray) ATM the HDD (40 GB) is hosting a cut-down version of Sarge - which I've never got on with, preferring to run Knoppix from DVD. However, that's by-the-bye, I'll be able to find old friends (fiends?) like Gnome on the CDs - the entire contents of which I intend decanting into magnetospace. Anyone used VirtualBox for Windows-based programs, especially anything written in VB-net? -- Tony http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/hi-fi/

I'm using VirtualBox for an XP guest running on xubuntu 8.10, very few issues really, it just works. It certainly runs the whole of Microsoft Office 2003 without any issues, including an Access database. -- Chris Green

Thanks for that - will go and get it then. I need it to continue using my internet software - if it had run properly in Wine... -- Tony http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/hi-fi/

A colleague has been using VirtualBox (XP as the host, Ubuntu 8.10 as the guest) and has been having trouble with svn (http connection dies early). Since the binary version claims to support USB2 I'm installing it now on my Ubuntu 8.10 PC to test virtual Windows. Tim.

Be interesting to hear your verdict... Just downloaded VirtualBox - on my VogonFone 'broadband' dongle it took just under an hour and a half - and a matter of seconds to burn it to CD afterwards... -- Tony http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/hi-fi/

Windows 7 beta (apart from 3D graphics and Aero Glass theme) and USB2 work just great. Regards, Tim.
