It belatedly occurs to me that inverted TTL serial probably looks just like non-inverted TTL serial except the data will be garbled. So most likely you have it hooked up to the right pins but you somehow need to invert the signal.

It's probably a typo, but just to check: you said 15200, but it should be 115200?
