Adding a Ps2 keyboard & mouse to IBX100

Did a quick search on deja, and found a couple of articles.

basically, someone gave me a new IBX100 to "play" with :-)

I fitted a double height PS2 socket to the board, and I got the keyboard =
working, but I can't seem to get the mouse to work.

Is this a common problem?  or related to the type of PS2 mouse I used.

Thanks for any advice.

PS.  Is there anything else interesting I can do with this??
