Yes we did :-)
For reference its a tiny 400k root initrd image with a busybox setup in it
Its still very alpha stuff

I didnt see the mail...whom did you mail?

Anyways, untill the patches are folded into the arm-linux maintainers tree 
were not going to do a release. Tho you can pull the patches from the patch
system on the arm linux website and patch up your own kernel. 

If you build your own kernel I see no reason you couldnt start it using the 
same tools as on say an acorn risc pc to start linux taht way I.E. use a zip 
drive and the hacks already documented on this list to get a command line etc. 

I havnt actualy done this yet but time permiting I will get round to it and 
document it on my website
