I had a dab about on the SuperIO and was disappointed that the modem was
not connected to it. Do you know where it is connected? OR more
importantly is it talked to over a serial line onto the ARM or does it
use some sort of memory mapped connection (parallel)?

The reason I ask is that I would like to get rid of the modem and
connect via a serial port to the PC which would then act as the modem
i.e. an internet gateway.
