[E3-hacking] Keypress output

Pressing 'q' gives me

omap-keypad: Spurious key event 4-3
omap-keypad: Spurious key event 4-3

Pressing 'j' gives me

omap-keypad: Spurious key event 4-5
omap-keypad: Spurious key event 4-5

the 1st  event in each case occurs when the key is pressed, the 2nd occurs after a short delay

Every other key I tried gave a simlar response (with different values of x and y)
