I'm also free next Wednesday - Wed15Sep - and having heard so much about the Sonning stretch would really like to do it while/if the weather holds out.

Week
days after work are better for me - I work in Reading but live in the North Cotswolds so it's a bit more of a trek at weekends.

Sorry!  Yes, I did mean it to go to everyone and it's just me being totally computer illiterate.  I hope you enjoy the swim if you do go on the Pangbourne stretch.

However, maybe we could do a quick Sonning swim next week?  That way we could get in a bit later as it's nearer, around 6.45, and be out before it gets too dark.  I've just bought a wetsuit and am desperate to try it out! Anyone up for that?  Monday, Wednesday and Friday are free for me as is Saturday 18th September in the afternoon, and Sunday 19th in the morning.

Would love to, but off to the lakes.

On a more positive note, I'm going to be the proud owner of a narrowboat, beginning the long chug from rugby to reading this Sunday. Will mean that I can offer her as a warming spot / place for tea after swims if I've got her in the area!

oops - I didn't realise Victoria had only sent this one to me, and not the list! Here it is, I'm assuming you did actually intend to send to all, Victoria?

Current state of affairs is that Lindsay and I could do Thursday evening, but Victoria can't. Any other takers for Thursday evening?

I'll ask on Oxon list too.
cheers

Hi Helen

I can't! - sorry to be difficult.  I could do Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week after 6.45?  It may be optimistic given coldness to swim for the whole Pangbourrne - Mapledurham Lock stretch, but we could go from the island at Thames Beach to the Lock I would have thought, if wetsuited.  We could park at the lane at the top of the road to the lock, walk down along the river bank and swim back along.
See you soon - I hope!

How about this Thursday evening, the 9th?

Hello everyone

I can't do this weekend, but the afternoon of Saturday 18th would be ok, or maybe Sunday 19th.  Alternatively, one evening?

Hi everyone

Hope the Sonning swim went well - I'd love to do this stretch if anyone fancies it before it gets seriously cold.  Also, it would be great if we could arrange something between Pangbourne and Mapledurham Lock. The entire swim must be around 1.5 - 2 miles but there is plenty of (muddy) exit points as has been mentioned previously, and it is a very pretty stretch of river with good parking at either end.  Any date suggestions?

I'm up for this one - how about next Saturday, the 11th? Unfortunately
the weather looks grey and rainy all week, so the river may be cooling
fast... It did feel colder at Sonning last night than a week
previously, my hands felt it - am thinking of getting some gloves. But
I'm still up for more swims at the moment. :)
cheers
