ALUG, We get a few messages blocked for moderation because (I think) they are base64 encoded; that is, the Content-Transfer-Type header says "base64". (Note that this is distinct from Content-Type; a text/plain message can be base64 encoded.) The pattern seems to be that all such messages are created using the Android mail client. A cursory Web search has turned up no solutions, but I did find an issue report: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2630 which I didn't read carefully enough to notice whether it includes a work-around or fix. Switching to K-9 cures this - at least if you select plain text as the message format in the "sending mail" option in account setup. And K-9 is a better mail client all round. I think the reason they were set to hold was because of a wave of spammers using base64 to send things like YnV5IHlvdXIgZHJ1Z3MgaGVyZSBodHRwOi8vZm9vCg== which should be blocked but are fiddly to catch with Mailman's filters. I'll spare you my usual rant about googleware doing the wrong thing and being harder to fix than it needs to be! Regards, -- MJ Ray (slef), member of www.software.coop, a for-more-than-profit co-op. Richard Yes I have the same problem. Using GMail via webmail is no problem, but using the email client on an Android phone on the same account makes it bounce to the ALUG. Simon On Sat, Mar 5, 2011 at 5:40 PM, Richard Lewis <richardlewis@fastmail.co.uk> wrote:
