Hi Everyone, I've just had NTL broadband installed and I'm racking my brains trying figure out how to get dhcpcd working (and there's been much rolling of eyes and nashing of teeth). I think the command is something like #dhclient or #dhcpcd -D -H eth0 Any advice greatly appreciated I'm running Slack 9.1 dmesg dhcpcd[1318]: timed out waiting for a valid DHCP server response # ethtool eth0 Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Speed: 10Mb/s Duplex: Half Port: MII PHYAD: 1 Transceiver: internal Auto-negotiation: on Current message level: 0x00000001 (1) Link detected: yes #lspci -v 00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.
