I should type into or clip into the LJ client, post it private, and squint and chop at it until it's slightly less overwhelming -- then e- mail it somewhere or blog it. It's a 'discipline problem', and the answer is achievable once I start lifting my fingers from the keyboard rather than posting 50 paragraphs at a time... Regards, R

For OSX I recommend Colloquy (http://colloquy.info/) Cheers, got it already. Bit of a learning curve after running mIRC for n years: is Colloquy the leader on OS X the same way mIRC is in Windows?

Yup, we're normally sitting in there anywhere from 8am->most of the day->till the wee hours. Just pop in and say 'Anyone awake?' If they're asleep, a new person in the channel will probably have the effect of waking them up! From, dodgy student type. --Simon
Ok I'm new to IRC so I dont know if I've get up Konversation correctly or not. I've got messages on the window saying: [Info] Looking for server irc.alug.org.uk:6667.... [Info] Server found. connecting... Do I need a login for this anywhere and if so where do I enter that information? Or is this all that's required and its just that there's no-one chatting? I'm thinking one of the reasons you're unable to connect to the chat server is because the traffic it runs on is being blocked by a firewall perhaps.
