Anyone have any ideas what my problem might be?
Not really, but: Try one of the many Linux Live CDs and see if that works (you have the benefit of a "clean" install for the duration of your tests. (I'm assuming that your tests have been on a dual-boot PC, rather than fresh installs?) Mark Rogers, More Solutions Ltd
