They are a really helpful bunch on IRC, honest. Why, it was only last Saturday that we had a lad from Florida University joining in asking for some *very* specialist help - Couldn't fix the problem as it turned out that the machine had suffered some physical damage during a move.. In general, the conversations that usually take place start with the assumption that everyone is a linux user, not necessarily a power user, but never a numskull.
