Kernel is 2.4.24 Sound is onboard i810 ? .....
I am using Arch linux 0.6 I used set up as on ALSA website but I still get no sound...I have tried alsaconf (not pci sound so will not find it)......still nothing If I use Morphix lsmod gives me i810_audio ... ac97_codec & soundcore transferring soundcore does not work because it was compiled with gcc 2 not 3 as used by Arch..
Sorry for getting confused. There are at least two programs called "Arch" as well as the distribution and it being a popular word for Archimedes or architecture. It looks like Morphix might be using the OSS/Free i810 driver, I think. As on ALSA web site where? What exactly are you doing? Do you have a soundcore already on your Arch linux installation? Does "modprobe snd-intel8x0" not work for you? i810 looks PCI to me: the driver is in the sound/pci dir of kernel 2.6.
