[ALUG] Video DVD Copying

Having last night successfully rescued (i.e. copied) a favourite DVD that had a crack slowly spreading from the centre outwards, I wondered if there are any favourite (preferably OSS) DVD clone packages list members may have? . I looked at various Windows and Linux options and eventually gave k9copy a try and was pleased with the straightforward way it worked.
