[ALUG] RAID: mdadm vs brtfs raid

I was reading the latest Linux Format which is talking about building a new machine.  It really surprised me when talking about RAID when it suggested to use btrfs instead of mdadm. Even if I use mdadm, I may try out btfs instead of ext4. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts? Steve
