More info (SMC SuperIO chip)

[I am in many ways talking to myself I guess, but it helps me keep track
of what I've found out so far and hopefully the list archives will prove
useful to someone someday]

The SMC FDC 37C669 chip at the back near the parallel port is a standard
SuperIO chip it seems. 2 serial, 1 parallel, floppy and IDE assistance.
