Ok, picked one up from Toys 'R Us in Luton for £19.99 today with a
leaflet to get a £10 voucher back - I need to sign up with the Bush
Internet 0845 ISP to do this it seems.

Got into command mode ok but everything is off the left side of the
screen by about 7 or 8 characters.

Discovered *BASIC drops into BBC Basic. Neat. Same problem with
characters though. Then a thought occured to me - you can do modes with
BBC Basic. One "MODE 7" later and I can see what I type properly. Cool.

I've opened it up of course. Tried to put a 32MB EDO SIMM in instead of
the 8MB one that's there but no joy. I need to see if I have any plain
FPM SIMMS about to try.

The chip is a 7500FE rather than the plain ARM7500.

There appear to be 2 socketed ROM chips with RISC OS on them.

Haven't got round to hooking up my parallel port Zip drive and seeing
what happens yet.

J.
